Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus, who is Christ! We are delighted that you have taken the time to visit our website! It is our prayer that the contents within this page will be a blessing to you and inspires you to worship with us at the next opportunity. We are conveniently located off of 25th and Massachusetts St. in Gary; just one street East of Broadway and approximately ½ mile Northeast of Interstate 80/94.

St. John Baptist Church was founded in the city of Gary in 1918. From that time until this, it has remained a pillar in our community. Through Godly leadership and influence, St. John has continued to serve the people of God both inside and outside of the church. Over the years, St. John has not only endeavored to seek the lost and encourage the saved, it has also played a role in fighting for equal employment opportunities as well as fair housing within our community. Even today, our passion is to serve God by serving His people – between Sundays. We are a church that endeavors to have our footprint in the street as well as the sanctuary!

At St. John, we strive to create a loving Christian atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable worshiping our Savior and King through inspirational singing and biblical preaching and teaching! Again, thank you for connecting with us. We look forward to seeing you in the worship service!
